Special transport services
Statistics relating to municipal special transport services and national special transport services.
The statistics elucidate Special transport services and National special transport services, i.e. numbers of single trips, numbers of permits granted and used.
The statistics are reported broken down by gender and age as well as geographically by county and municipality.
The statistics can be used in comparisons between different accounting groups and show the development over time nationally, regionally and locally. Special transport services and National special transport services are for those who, due to a disability, which is not only temporary, have significant difficulties moving around on their own or traveling by public means of transport.
The scope of the survey
All the municipalities in Sweden are surveyed annually. The statistics are primarily based on data provided by the municipalities, often via regional public transport authorities, but also on register data from Riksfärdtjänsten AB. The data in the survey have been included in the Official Statistics of Sweden since 2007.
The survey is a total survey, but there are certain sources of uncertainty. The biggest source of uncertainty is information on the use of granted permits. There are, for example, a few cases where the information is missing on specific variables from taxi companies that carry out requested trips. In those cases, compensation for the loss has taken place with imputation.
Publication
The data regarding Special transport services and National special transport services are published annually in June.
The statistics are available in spreadsheets (Excel-format) and in Transport Analysis statistics portal. In the portal, users can select statistics of interest themselves and download it in various formats, as well as display it in diagrams.
